How often have I heard some potential business buyer say “let me think about it “……..
………..and they think about it,
……… and they think about it, and never actually make a decision at all.
In 95% of cases that person never actually buys that business, and in my opinion will never buy any business !
They can’t , they are just paralysed with indecision.
The positive approach is to ensure the business you are investigating is a good match with your criteria. If it is not a good match, go no further.
An example of these questions might be
If the business is located too far from home.
If the business suits an engineer and you are a CHEF.
If the price is more than you are prepared to spend.
GO NO FURTHER !
There are dozens of other aspects that need to be considered too.
Common sense will guide you through most.
If the business meets 90% of your criteria, you have done very well.
An accountant and solicitor can assist greatly to check through the financials and the legal’s as well.
If it is a bad match with your criteria, look for something else.
If it is a good match go to the final step and check all aspects of the contract thoroughly.
Then make your final decision.
