There is no doubt the world is facing a great transfer of wealth as baby boomers sell off ( or transfer to a family member ) their hard earned property, shares and businesses assets. For the successful ones this may involve a very substantial sum.
But for more than 10 years I have heard so called “business sales experts” say that baby boomers need to get their act together, and get working on making their businesses more saleable, because there is going to be a glut of good businesses up for sale at the same time, as a large number of baby boomers cash up and retire.
What these so called “business sales expert” are suggesting is that a large number of baby boomers may not be able to sell their businesses at all, because the market will be flooded with a huge supply of good businesses coming onto the market at the same time.
In reality nothing is further from the truth !
Even in 2016 there is no sign of any over-supply because many baby boomers are procrastinating over selling or not. With many being unsure about what to do, indecision is rampant as many decide to do nothing rather than put their business up for sale and face a personal uncertain future. And there is no sign of change………
